3 month old- hard stool
Hi doctors, My 3 month old baby has been passing hard stools since Jun 6th. He poops every 4 days and the stool is very hard. He urinates atleast 12 times a day. He cries for milk every 2-2.5 hours in the day. He plays, smiles and makes sounds. He sleeps well from the evening and wakes up around 3-4.5 hours each time for feeds from evening. Is he dehydrated? I asked his Pediac and he told that hard stool is normal. I would like to know if its completely normal.. shall I visit a pediatric gastroenterologist? I've seen babies go soft and liquidy stools at his age. Why is his poop so hard? He is exclusively breastfed. Please suggest what can be done. Please tell me why his poop is hard. I've given all the info that I feel is required. Is it because of my eating habits? Please don't tell me to connect for a consultation if it's not really necessary. I really hope you help.

Babies stool passing frequency varies a lot on breastfeeding. They sometimes passes upto 10-12 times stools per day and sometimes they pass stools once in 5-7 days Both are normal provided baby is accepting feeds well, passing urine adequately, not irritable.
