I am a 23 years old healthy male, I usually have erections up to the point where I’m about to have intercourse, I imagine performance anxiety/fear strikes and I go soft.

it's mainly due to performance anxiety. Yes initially you can take the tablet and perform sex. you may not require it every time. you have to take a good psychiatric counseling to come out of the anxiety.
