23 days late periods with no pregnancy

Hello Dr. My periods are not coming from last 23 days.i am not pregnant.I checked with gynacolist also.she gave me medicine and said I missed period because of I am gaining weight.is this possible that u missed period because of this reason.This is my first time that my period delay.Is that any serious thing.i am really worried. M living in singapore. Not getting good indian gynacolist.she gave me dydrogesterone 10mg Is this helpful for peroids.I am taking this medicine what about the reviews of this medicine.please help me.
