10 days Delay in period for first time.

Asked for Female, 27 Years

There has been a delay of around 10 days in my period for the first time. It has not yet started. Pregnancy test is negative. Early this month was a little stressful for me mentally but that was only for a week. Unable to understand the reason. Should i wait for some more time for period to start or should I consult the doctor ?
