It is pneumococcal vaccine prevenar-13. It prevents baby from pneumonia and meningitis. It is recommended by Indian Academy of pediatrics. Mandatory are only those which are given by govt freely. Remaining parents can decide to give or not. For Pneumococcal vaccine another brand Synflorix also you can give which costs 1800. But prevenar-13 also has its own advantages. Discuss with your pediatrician in detail before giving.
