His academic voyage commenced with a distinguished undergraduate journey, culminating in a B.A.M.S from Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Ayurveda College & Hospital, Chennai, where he not only graduated with honors but also secured the prestigious Silver Medal, earning him the top university ranking in March 2008.A pivotal milestone in Dr. Sivabalaji's academic pursuit unfolded with the pursuit of a master's degree in Shalakya Tantra at SDM College of Ayurveda & Hospital, Hassan, in 2013. This laid the foundation for his specialization in Ayurveda – Shalakya Tantra, a field he would go on to revolutionize.Presently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of P.G Studies in Shalakya Tantra at Amrita School of Ayurveda, Vallikkavu, Kerala. Dr. Sivabalaji's expertise extends to the management of Retinal disorders, Nasal disorders, and headaches with Ayurvedic approaches.In his pursuit of advancing Ayurveda, Dr. Sivabalaji invented a groundbreaking biomedical equipment called the automated seka machine, showcasing his innovative spirit. His scholarly contributions are reflected in his role as a reviewer for esteemed journals like Ayurveda Case Report AYUCARE AIIA Journal and Journal of Ayurveda and Integrated Medicine (JAIM).
