Dr. MARIA JOSEPH SAM FREDRICK MICHAEL is an Orthopedic Surgeon with expertise in General Orthopedics, Arthroscopic Surgery, Joint Replacement Surgery and Trauma & Fracture Management. With clinical and academic experience of over eight years, he is thoroughly acquainted with the management of a wide spectrum of orthopedic conditions and has trained undergraduate and post graduate medical students.Dr. FREDRICK MICHAEL completed his MBBS and MS (Orthopedics) from the prestigious St. John’s Medical College and Research Institute, Bangalore.Dr. FREDRICK MICHAEL has completed a Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Knee and Hip Surgery (JOINT REPLACEMENT SURGERY) at AZ Alma Hospital, EEKLO, BELGIUM. He has extensively trained in a pioneering Knee Replacement Technique known as ‘Patella in Place Ligament Balancing’ and Minimally Invasive Hip Replacement. These techniques assure a rapid post operative recovery period, with an average hospital stay of 2-3 days and can even be done as a day care procedure in special cases. With a special interest in Arthroscopy and Sports Injuries, Dr. FREDRICK MICHAEL has completed an International Fellowship in Arthroscopy, Sports Traumatology and Sports Medicine at the Clinica do Dragao- Espregueira Mendes Sports Centre (FIFA Centre of Excellence and ISAKOS accredited Training Centre), located at the historic FC Porto stadium in PORTO, PORTUGAL. He is well-versed in Arthroscopic Surgery (KEYHOLE JOINT SURGERY) and treatment of Sports injuries, including ACL reconstruction, Meniscal balancing and repair, MPFL repairs.Dr. FREDRICK MICHAEL endeavours to keep himself updated through participating in various conferences and workshops, including a Knee Workshop conducted by the University of BASEL, SWITZERLAND in October 2015. He is currently a Consultant at ORTHO-ONE Orthopedic Speciality Centre, Chennai.
