Dr. Sridev Barathan

Absolutely amazing experience! We are new to Chennai and live in Padur (near Kelambakkam). My wife got very a high fever last weekend and when paracetamol stopped working, I had to find a doctor. We first went to Chettinad Health City - five doctors (looked like interns) came around asking the symptoms and all five had a lost look on their face. I lost it when the fifth one asked me to get the file made before he can proceed. We walked out and went to Swaram Hospital in Kelambakkam. Not a great place but since we had an emergency, it was our only option. Moreover, I didn't want to be robbed by the fancy of Apollo and Global Heath City - the only two other known hospitals within 20 KM of Padur. The medication recommended from Swaram didn't seem to be working and on Tuesday, I was desperate to seek another opinion. Not knowing where else to go, I took her to newly opened Apollo Hospital on OMR (near Perungudi). The OPD doc wasn't available and to out surprise, the emergency doc gave me the standard Apollo bullshit and within first five minutes, gave out an opening script about admitting her for at least two days! This is when he hadn't even checked what the real problem is! I lost it and asked him to give her a paracetamol injection and be done with it. These morons have absolutely no respect for their profession, all they want is to mint money out of you. The doc at Apollo (Bhaskar) had the balls to ask me where do I work? How is that relevant? So that you can mind money out of me depending upon how much I make? To top it all, the doc gave her a paracetamol IV instead of a simple injection and charged me INR 1000 for the 20 minutes we were there.

I had to find another doc. It was 9 pm in the night and Practo came to the rescue. I looked up General Physician and Dr. Sridev (although far in KK Nagar) came up with stupendous reviews. I immediately booked an appointment for 9:30 pm and put on the GPS to his clinic. I must say it was one of the best decisions I took for my wife in our one year of married life. Dr. Sridev was a lifesaver and examined her condition thoroughly. I mean you know the caliber of the doc by the questions he asks, right? It was like Dr. Sridev knew the problem inside out within 15 minutes and inspired great amount of confidence in us. He was a thorough professional and explained everything in a lot of detail which was quite easy for us to understand. His probing and a very logical diagnosis is very comforting and confidence inspiring. It has just been 4 days since my wife has been on his prescribed medication and she was feeling fit enough to rejoin work today. I must mention that the extremely benefiting advice Dr. Sridev gave on food habits during the recovery period, and in maintaining general well being was very valuable. He was very patient and to out delight, was available to talk on phone during odd hours in case we needed to discuss a variation in her symptoms.

I highly recommend a visit to Dr. Sridev in case you need the right treatment the first time. If I could travel 35 KM one way, I am sure you too can. By the way, the consultation fee is very nominal and the doc has a tie up with a couple of laboratories for the essential tests. Of course, you are free to get them done at a different place of your choice but I think this facility is very efficient and enables Dr. Sridev to review the reports before sending them over to you. A big thank you to Dr. Sridev - you are a true example of how doctors should be abiding by the oath they took. we are lucky to have found you at the right time. I must especially thank you for your patience and making us feel comfortable since I was a bit unnerved at my wife's condition at first. God bless you!

My wife had severe fever.. She suffered intense ulcers with persistent cough and high fever again. I was desperate to get a good consultation with a good doctor. Then I found Sridev in Practice with raving feedback. he was fabulous..The way he gave attention and analysed was so warming and reassuring.. **** ** *** ** ******** ** *** *********** she recovered in a good way. Doctor Sridev Barathan is very courteous, having lot of patience. Explained to me the problem and solution very well. I find Doctor is very practical in analyzing the problem.Suggesting medicines also very appropriate and useful. I got real confidence after meeting Dr Sridev Barathan.
