Dr. Sandhya Suresh

Dr. Sandhya Suresh completed her undergraduate degree from Madras Medical College, Chennai and her postgraduation in General Medicine from Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. Her passion for neprhology took her to Gujarat where she pursued her DrNB Nephrology degree from the prestigious Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital, Nadiad. During her residency, she has trained extensively in interventional nephrology including renal biopsy, temporary and permanent dialysis catheter placement, fistulography and fistuloplasty. Dr.Sandhya's academic fervour led to her current designation as Assistant Professor of Nephrology in Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Porur, Chennai from where she has published several research papers. She has special interest in glomerular diseases and has completed the Glomcon fellowship and the International society of Nephrology primer course in glomerular diseases. Apart from management of chronic kidney disease, dialysis and transplant patients, she is also passionate about primary prevention of kidney diseases and hence also prioritises the management of common risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension and infections. After completing the Nephrology Social Media Collective internship, she also aims to further FOAMEd (Free online access to medical education) in the fields of medicine and nephrology.
