Dr. Rangasamy Muthusamy

Dr. Muthusamy qualified from Madras Medical College in 1979. He has got more than 36 years of experience in the UK. His main specialty is Cardiology and has been working in the UK as a Consultant Cardiologist for over 26 years. He is trained in all aspects of Cardiology in premier institutions and in 1996, he set up a state of the art Cardiology Department at Rotherham General Hospital with all facilities like Modern CCU with telemetry, Catheterisation Lab, Echocardiography services, Pacing and Implantable Loop recorder services, imaging department including Nuclear, CT and Cine MR. He was the Head of the Department Of Cardiology and Clinical Lead at Rotherham General Hospital NHS Trust. He obtained his MRCP from Royal College of Physicians of London and Dublin, Fellowship (FRCP) from Royal College of Physicians of London and Edinburgh and has FACC from the American College of Cardiology. He was a Senior Lecturer at the Sheffield Medical School, University of Sheffield. He ran an extensive teaching program and taught medical students regularly, trained Junior Doctors, Specialist Registrars many of whom are working as Consultants at various centers around the UK and India now. He was an examiner for the undergraduates and still a post-graduate examiner for the UK. He set up a vibrant Cardiology Research Programme and was involved in various multi-center clinical trials both nationally and internationally and the results were published in various Journals including BMJ, EHJ, and JACC. He has also done his own research in Atrial Fibrillation, Testosterone in Angina, Depression following a Heart attack. He has published several papers in various peer-reviewed journals and presented his research (29 in Total) at both National and International Cardiovascular meetings.
