Hoped for better: Treatment satisfaction
Hi folks, I am Narayanan and I met Dr. Ramkumar, since I suspected I had sub-clinical Hyperthyroidism (TSH was low, but normal T3/T4 levels).
This is my story and how I overcame it. In the month of Jan I had master health check up in Global Hospital and all my thyroid levels were normal, but I had stage 2 fatty liver and I was asked by the doctor to lose weight.
Fast forward 3/4 months, I lost close to 18 kgs because of Diet and exercise and when I went for the blood work along with ultrasound, it showed my fatty liver has been completely cured, but my TSH was at 0.14 (normal levels being 0.54 to 4.5 something) and I retook the test 3 weeks later and my TSH went down further to 0.03.
I thought let's go and meet a endocrinologist, since I was worried why TSH became so low. So when I met Ramkumar Ramadas, he advised me to undergo few blood tests and I had high cortisol levels. Also I had for 2 months or so poor sleep ** **** ***** *** **** ******* ******** ** *****************
Personally I know pretty well the reason for losing weight is because of my diet and exercise and the sleepness was due to sheer anxiety that I had because of my stage 2 fatty liver ****** *** ***** *** ** **** ********
But I didn't trust myself and I just wanted my thesis to be confirmed by a endocrinologist. But unfortunately Ramkumar diagnosed me as having Hyperthyroidism and prescribed me anti thyroid medications (Methimazole) and Escimax (Clonazepem) for my anxiety and sleeplessness. *** ********** ********** ** ** **** *** ******* *** ******* **** **************** I was having all the classic symptoms.
I bought the medicine ******* *** **** **** *** and I did take anti thyroid medication for few days (4 days to be precise) *** * ************* *** ****** ****** ****** *** **** *** on the advise of doctor (spoke with one of the assistant over the phone) I stopped taking medicine and I was advised to undergo RAI therapy.
At that point in time, I somehow made up my mind that nothing was wrong with me and it's because of my diet and exercise over the past few months somehow played with my TSH value.
I just went back to my original diet and also stopped doing exercise to see if that had any effect on my TSH levels and also I came across a blog online ******************************************************************************** ***** *********** ** ******* *** ***** ** *** ******* ******** **** *** Below are my TSH levels taken over the past 2 months (0.19, 0.38, 1.98, 1.40 and 2.09).
From my personal experience, before seeing doctor make yourself absolutely sure that there is something wrong with you. ** * *** ********* *** ******** * ***** **** ****** ** ************** *** **** *** * ***** **** ********* ******** *********** ** **** ** ******* ** ******* ******* Also just to add I didn't take even one table to escimaz CZ ***** ******* ***** *** **** ******* ****** and I sleep pretty well now.
With regards to my treatment from the doctor, I don't find anything wrong since I was having all the classical symptoms associated with hyperthyroidism and he treated me accordingly. It's the responsibility of the individual to know about his body more and luckily I was aware of even minute changes and I took action accordingly. Have trust in yourself and your health will take care of itself.
