Ms. K. Poongodi (Physiotherapist)

I saw her twice for back and knee discomfort, and I believe she is one of the greatest physiotherapists in Porur and Chennai. Dr. Poongodi is extremely knowledgable and has vast experience in her specialty. She is also very kind, pleasant, and gives excellent hospitality. Her ability to identify, explain, and treat the problem demonstrates *** ********** Most significantly, the clinic is outfitted with all of the required accessories, equipment, and amenities. “I just want to say “God Bless You”! It has been 2 years now that I have been suffering from crippling sciatica and back pain. I have been to 3 osteopaths, 3 physios, 1 chiropractor and one consultant radiologist who gave me three sets of local epidural injections under x-ray control. In addition I saw a my facial release specialist. I paid out-of-pocket for all and it cost me several thousand pounds. All were well-meaning people but none managed to diagnose nor cure my pain. I received temporary relief because all focused on symptoms and not the cause.

You DIAGNOSED me and then set about curing the cause. Your examination was the most thorough I have received and I was grateful for a diagnosis - finally.

2 months on, I am 90% there - not bad given how chronic my situation was. Most importantly, the progress is sustained which means we (sorry, you) have gotten to the cause…

Several times I have been in tears due to my inability to be properly functional. It is remarkable how chronic pain can affect one psychologically. I used to be really miserable by 5/6 pm because by then the pain was at its worse and I was not able to move much nor stand.

That is not the case anymore (thank God) and I notice how much more energy and positive attitude I have at the end of the day vs fatigue and despondency.

You were the first to look at my situation as an individual one. Almost everyone else just followed a tried and tested treatment route. That “one size fits all” just DOES NOT work and it is so hard to tell who is a good Clinician and who is not.

Dr. K.Poongudi is a down-to-earth person.

First she Listens to you very much, all about your Problems, and Pains. She patiently listens to you & you can explain every single detail of

how the pain started to affect you(this is the first quality I believe a doctor should have to treat you efficiently & effectively)

She is very sincere & dedicated in her work, which shows up in the treatment too.

She is very well versed with various kinds of treatments including IFT, SWD, Accidental-Injuries, Traction and Post Surgery Rehabilitation etc.

I went to her for my own treatment of my Neck & Back pain as well as Posture-related corrections through Posture corrective Exercises, as advised by my Orthopaedic Surgeon.

The way she treats is also very different. first she takes us into confidence & patiently explains all the prerequisites, Do's & Dont's, terms & processes. I was fearful about Neck, Back pain & Spondylitis.

But to my surprise, I got much benefitted from her treatment in terms of confidence & pain relief too.

Treatment is really great.

Personally she is a very kind and talented Physiotherapist. I would personally recommend her. Infact iam planning to take my wife to her for treatment for her back-pain.

I was suffering from Neck pain which occured as I pinched my nerve from doing push-ups. As it was nerve related, the pain soon started radiating to my right shoulder and arm. As mine was a Desk job, working became tough as I had to maintain my neck in a particular position to not feel the pain.

I searched for a Physiotherapist in Practo & came across Dr. Poongodi. I got an appointment and went to her clinic. Just as in other reviews, she is really humble and unassuming. She patiently listens to our problems and comes with a good diagnosis. She told me to undergo IFT & Traction treatment.

I would have gone for just 5 sittings, the pain soon started to dimnish and today while writing this review my neck is completely normal. She has also taught me few neck exercises which would help me prevent such problems in future.

I have had a recurring painful issue with my neck, shoulders and upper arms for the past 4 years. I have been to many other treatment over this time but could get little or no relief. The pain was just always there.

Professional Physiotherapy has got a right professional physiotherapist. Dr Poongodi has a genuine concern towards she's patients. My wife is a stroke survivor. Her left side of the body is almost 70% movement loss was there until we met Dr Poongodi. Now she is able to eat by herself with spoon, my wife had lost hope about her recovery. Still the therapy is going on from past 2 months, her leg is also responding well with Dr Poongodi treatment. She is very polite, humble, friendly and listens to patient very clearly and takes right decision on the treatment. She attends her patients on time.
