My entire family is indebted to Dr Ammaiappan for his extraordinary services to my ailing parents. I have been taking treatment to my father for the last two years at Fortis Malar, Adyar, Chennai. Despite the COVID lockdown and the difficulty to reach the hospital from Mar20, Dr is very kind enough to consult through WhatsApp and prescribed the medicines that too without any fees. My father is living in Cuddalore and am at Chennai. I could not able to reach my parents due to lockdown.

My father SPo2 was at 80% at some point in time and I could not able to do anything. Through the WhatsApp consultation by Dr and the support of O2 concentrator, medicines etc had saved my Father. Further, Dr has excellent networking and logistics for the medical equipment and support system etc. The contact details were provided and you need not run around and further stressing yourself to source them at critical times.

At the beginning of this year, my father was fallen sick due to fluid accumulation in the lungs and not being able to breathe comfortably. My Father was admitted at Fortis and because of Dr he was completely recovered after 5 days

The highlight of the whole episode was both of my parents were tested Covid Positive during 3rd week of Aug'21 in Cuddalore. I immediately consulted with Dr and rushed my parents to Fortis Malar in the next day due to Dr advice. At one stage my hope was falling down due to the admission of my Father in Covid-ICU for a week and my mother was in a Covid ward. The amount of stress I had undergone during the hospital admission period will not be forgettable throughout my life.

Dr was sharing the health conditions and briefed the progress of improvement of my parents every day. Parents were separated and my Father was in ICU and my Mother was in a Ward also made my parents shaky and worried lot. There was no communication between them.

My mother aged 70 was discharged after a week and my father aged 82 was discharged after ten days.

Without Dr Ammaiappan's unstinted support and courage to listen to all our pains with compassion and patience, the miracle of saving both my parents could not have happened. I am thanking the almighty for showing Dr Ammaiappan to my family to get rid of our pains/illness and saved my parent's lives.

I am praying to God for well being of Dr and his family and wish that Dr Ammaiappan should reach further greater heights and serve society for very long years.

Dr VijayaSharada - my mother's pulmonologist, due to her overseas travel, had referred to Dr Amaiyappan for her asthma treatment follow up, . His critical assessment of condition and medications restored her health quite soon.

Last month, despite being a 2-dose Covishield vaccinate, I developed mild symptoms of COVID (mild sore throat and severe leg pain) and I had an online consultation with Dr Amaiyappan. Based on histoy and symptoms patiently heard, he suggested the most important laboratory investigations immediately, understanding my phase of infection.

Sharing the reports to him by Whatsapp, his online consultation enabled me to start my self-monitoring, guidelines for isolation from my family at home and necessary medicines thereafter.

Stepping into my 2nd week post-infection, he asked me to look for any progressing clinical signs, daily monitoring of SpO2 levels, twice daily before and after 5min-walk within the room; with adequate rest.

The best part of his therapy was- upon request, he suggested prophylactic therapy for my junior kids, 80yr old Mom and husband......by this he ensured good health to my family too, through my consultation.

His "Good morning" message in the morning reminded me to keep him informed of my health. Hats-off to Sir for his close follow-up despite his hectic schedule and prompt brief texts whenever we ask any doubts.

Subsequent blood profile study and judicious choice of drugs, enabled me to step out of this illness smoothly.

Had been through a few doctors but this doctor,he is different.so wish to giveup a lengthy writeup.

.Very gentle and soft spoken doctor with patients irrespective of their age.Had seen a few busy doctors trying to rush up patients.No,absolutly he is not like that.

.Ample patience in listing patient's complaints.This does not mean he vl keep listing stories of the patient's and makes the other patients wait a long time.Nope.He leaves his ear while checking us.

.VERY MUCH APT in diagnosis.

.Not interested in running unwanted diagnositic tests except for the needed.

.You dont get a big list of medicines untill your condition demands, unlike few doctors do as per my experience.

.When i had to go for a second visit to show the test results i was late n as per the norms of doctors fee/hospitals i had to pay the consultation fee but he did not accept it on humanitarian grounds because i live far and was coming alone with my 6yr kid in cab and by the time i reach home it would 10-10.30 pm.

Honestly i just came across commericial doctors till date with hospitals ,ignoring private clinics, charging for every visit beyound the valid timeperod.This shows he is not a doctor with commericial mindset.

He remembers you by name and leaves a msg to ask hows the improvement. ON a regular basis he enquiries his patients whereabouts and suggests changes in medications if needed.

He even helps you as a psychiatrist to manage ur stress and anxiety.

I mean I never came across such goodhearted doctor.

What more can you except from a doctor who is apt in his diagnosis ,treatment and follow up with patient not just for a stipulated treatment period but beyound and during the pandemic.

I would certainly recommend Dr.Ammaiyyappan sir.

At the end I would just say a very down to earth,softspoken, friendly caregiving,highly efficient doctor.Certainly society needed such doctors.

I have heard about Fortis Malar Adyar 4PM to 6PM program. In that program they offer expert in every department.

There i met sent Dr. Ammaiyappan for pulmonology issues.

I have just gone there as my appa said to consult pulmonologist as wheezing and other pulmo issues are there in my heridatory.

After couple of visits and tests Doctor understood my problem and body behaviour. And i followed his medication for two months from there i am doing great and recovering and i am in controlled state.

And suddenly lockdown all over India due to pandemic COVID -19 and moved to native before it was announced.

There i started to belive God in Doctors. I am in middle of medication cant go to Chennai and cant go local pulmo due to COVID 19.

I got his number from the Hosp thru PRACTO and i texted him over whats app. Unlike many great doctors he was very happy to help his patients in any which way he can and even he knows me by name thats very sweet from him.

He saw my latest prescriptions given by him and suggested the new medications and he helped me alot in bringing back to normal.

He was so patience to listen my probs and during this pandemic he became my psychiatrist by treating my stress and anxiety. He became my gastroenterologist when i need him.. He will be always available for his patients by giving a quick response.

When i asked him about consultation fees for treating me over call and whats app.He rejected it humbly.

During this pandemic we rarely see such doctors and few called them as gods.

I do not recommend Dr. Ammaiyappan Palaniswamy Chockalingam. The diagnosis was not proper and I felt pressured to get admitted quickly.

Dr.Ammaiyappan has been a pillar of support after my father tested positive for Covid-19 three weeks ago! Let me briefly explain how.

Father tested positive on Jun 14 and based on online feedback in this platform, we setup a tele-consultation with Dr. Ammaiyappan on Jun 15. He gave us comfort to treat my father under home quarantine. He also immediately agreed to give a certificate that Corporation wanted to do home quarantine which even a reputed chain hospital refused! His diagnosis was spot-on in that lung infection will start only around 4-6 days and advised CT, helped with the diagnostic center as well. Father did have lung infection and he gave medications for that and also asked us to strictly monitor SPO2 levels using pulse oxymeter every 4hrs. We were cautioned that the levels shouldn't go below 94%. As a backup he also asked us to rent a oxygen concentrator which came in handy later. Daily at night I would send the day's SPO2 readings to him and he would promptly respond over whatsapp. That way he was available throughout giving timely advice. The following Friday night (Jun 19) SPO2 levels dropped below 94. On Sat morning (Jun 20) he advised us to hospitalize my father while using the oxygen concentrator in the meantime to supply external oxygen.

Father had to be hospitalized for 2 weeks in a hospital (where we were able to secure a bed) where he was not consulting. Even during this time he constantly advised us and gave reassurance during difficult times. He is always available over whatsapp which is not the case with many doctors. In spite of the fact that he is a busy person treating Covid patients at GH and elsewhere he was also available for calls when critical advise was needed. Except for the first time he even refused to take consultation fee for all the whatsapp consultation and advise we received. When insisted he simply said he wants the pandemic to get over and is treating old patients as a service! Hats off to you doctor...you are a rare gem in this profession!

My father has now recovered and is back home. For us Dr. Ammaiyappan has truly been a Godsend during a critical moment in life! Thank you so much Doctor! Thanks also to this online community for the feedback that prompted us to consult him in the first place :-)

My wife developed breathing issue on March 20, exactly few days before the nationwide lock down, and it was severe. We were running post to post within city for doctor consultation and we couldnt get any appointments. She she continued to have discomfort, we were clueless. Fortunately, we consulted Dr. Ammaiyappan and that has made all the difference. He asked us to do couple of tests , X-rays and explained us in detail the diagnosis and the what we should be following. If not for the Doctor, we might not have released we had a problem for months. Doctor was available anytime and patiently cleared all our doubts multiple times over call and whatsapp and went beyond the call of duty, in spite of working in GH, and treating patients for Covid 19.

We couldn't have survived the pandemic without Doctors help and support. My wife again developed fever for almost a week, he promptly asked to take CT, Blood test and even asked to do a blood test again to make sure every parameters are expected. We feel really lucky to have consulted with the Doctor, we could not imagine what we could have done had we didnt get his service.

My wife who is in treatment for cancer had CT scan that revealed lung infection ( Grounf Glass Opacity). we took rtpcr test that revealed she a had covid too.. Dr.Ammiayppan has been treating her for past 1 year...So when GGO happened and we got in touch with Dr.Ammaiyappan he immediately responded with tesrs and when covid positive came next day, advised to admit for treatment. though no bed was available, he helped us accommodate her same day and treatment started. that helped contain and cure in just 5 days.. Dr..was extremely kind and patiently listened to our queries and doubts despite being busy handling several inpatients.... He listens more and gives to the point the advise or clarification. I will rate one of the best doctors I have come across in 50 years... He is calm and composed and attends well and very patient friendly too. We were 4 from our family who got hospitalised for covid in Malar in third week of Aug'21.  Mom was critical and rest had various degree of lung involvement. The very first meet with Dr.Ammaiyappan, gave me the confidence that we all will sail through. Covid being such an unpredictable disease, not easy to understand its course and impact, Dr.Ammaiyappan explained about the disease, lung involvement based on CT scan, treatment course and gave the confidence to fight agaist the disease. He responded promptly to the whatsapp querries and provided guidance. Kept me updated about my parent's health condition. We got discharged in first week of Sep'21, with Mom having the longest hospital stay of 12 days, inclusive if 8 days in ICU. Dr. ammaiyappan's treatment in the right direction along with encouraging words helped all of us to overcome this disease. Even after discharge Dr.Ammaiyappan continues to answer our querries and help us cope up post covid effects. I'm very excited to share my experience with Dr.Ammaiyappan Palaniswamy Chockalingam.

I had severe coughing and fever by last year September 2020. Then I met doctor regarding my health issue. He advised me to take test to find out the issue and I followed as per his instructions. In results found to know that I have been infected by Tuberculosis in Right lung which is in Higher level.

So immediately he advised me to undergo for Lung Decortication Surgery. I had very good moral support and treatment from his team in Fortis Malar, Adayar. Doctor used to have frequent visits to me when I was admitted in hospital more than a week to check my health conditions.

After the surgery discharge, Doctor advised me to continue medicaions for several months and had in-between Review meeting during the months with test results to know the improvement of the surgery wound and the infection spreding was cleared and now it's been completely recovered, and doctor has advised me to Stop medication now.

Asked me to do Physical fitness to regain my strength. Very happy and satisfied getting treatment from him.
