Dr. Prof Balakumar S

Dr. S Balakumar is a Vascular Surgeon working at the Helios Hospitals Private Ltd in Chennai. His expertise are in the use of minimally-invasive catheter procedures and surgical reconstruction for treatment of diseases of the vascular system or arteries and veins. Dr Balakumar has special interest in Laparoscopic Truncal Vagotomy and Laparoscopic Heller’s Cardiomyotomy. He completed his MBBS from the Annamalai University and later went on to specialising in surgery by obtaining MS in general surgery and MCh in Vascular surgery from the Madras Medical College in the years 2000 and 2006 respectively. A committed academic he also made various publications like the Lumbar Sympathectomy in the Text Book of Vascular Surgery released by the Vascular Society of India and Paediatric Coartation of Aorta in the Department of Paediatric Cardio Thoracic Surgery for the institute of Child Health.
