Am sure you have seen the movie Munnabhai MBBS. No am not suggesting that Dr. Shaunak Patel is a Munnabhai as he is neither a "bhai" operating from some gully mohalla nor is he a Sanju baba. So why did I refer to the movie? In the movie there is a bit of an emphasis by Sanju baba on how a doctor treats a patient not just way of a prescription but also by his behaviour. This is where Dr. Shaunak scores a perfect 10. To treat a finicky and sceptical germophobe like me is not easy and he has done it and done it well. I also do not mind wearing white socks to his clinic as I am sure they wont turn brown since cleanliness is good. Conversations with him are intersting since he is both well travelled and well read in matters also other than medicine. Let me also enumerate an instance where it was clear to me that he is in line with the generation today. I went for allergy and also ended up discussing my insomnia where he asked me what do i do staying awake. Before I replied he said - future planning and career progression. All other doctors I have met for insomania have had their vocabulary limited to medical school stuff or at best the DSM. To me this clearly shows an approach beyond the written. Well I do not want to sound evaluatory since in India we are not supposed to evaluate parents, teachers, doctors and the other noble kinds. But if do end up sounding evaluatory then all I can call it in my vocab - value for what is spent. Oh! did I tell u that Dr. Shaunak Patel is a Gold Medalist? You are in safe hands....and can visit him for your anomalies without an iota of doubt in ur mind. Go get treated by Dr. Shaunak and improve ur quality of life greatly...
