Hello parent .Good morning 🙏 Appreciate the time taken out to write a review so heartfelt. Sadly some details are missing. Also so much time taken out to write a review if was taken out to follow up if child is not recovering would actually have helped u and ur child better. Some missing details and protocols learnt in medical school and post graduation i would like to highlight here. Parents gave history of self medication with oral STEROIDS (betnasol drops ) and a drops taken for cough Visits Dr Dsouza at approx 1:45 pm Monday 5th of sept first time. After carefully listening to the history obviously as im remembering it till today I have explained how WRONG it is to start STEROIDS as ur medication for cough by self following a previous doctor s old ( July/ Aug ) prescription . THIS GIVING STEROIDS WAS CONFIRMED FROM SOME FAMILY MEMBERS WHO R MEDICAL REPRESENTATIVES (MR ) as given in the history , instead of proper assessment by some doctor for current scenario. And i remember saying SORRY as they r ur relatives but they have given u a wrong advice . now child had fever cold and cough, Also child who has recieved steroids and no relief we have to investigate to look for the real diagnosis of either viral illness or bacterial. So was done and confirmed that its a viral illness and cbc crp mp and dengue ( mp and dengue done as both are on a rise and we dont investigate immediately on first visit but as ur child is getting pricked might as well do these investigations too was explained and then added to the prescription list ) Now as its confirmed viral Illness as clinically suspected by me and re- confirmed from lab reports obviously no antibiotics were given ( FYI : Antibiotics are to be used in Bacterial infection only . There r no antibiotics for Viral infections) This is the total scenario of 5th September first consultation Ethically i have done exactly what is correct and what is the normal protocol in allopathic and evidence based medicine practice. Yet I APOLOGIZE for being ETHICAL & HONEST to my profession And I APOLOGIZE for not giving in to ur unreasonable demand of starting antibiotics for a viral illness. No matter how much pressure is put..we have sworn to do right by our patients to the best of our knowledge gained via years of studies experience and hardwork.
