Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute (CNCI) is a 460-bed cancer treatment and research institute at Street Number 299, DJ Block, Action Area I, New Town, Kolkata 700160. It was established in 1950 and is named after the freedom fighter Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das. The institute is certified by NABH and accredited by NABL, and functions as a Regional Cancer Centre.Its work covers cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, education and research. Clinical departments include oncology, surgical oncology and radiation oncology; haematology; head and neck surgery; plastic surgery; gynaecology and obstetrics; radiology, including interventional radiology and diagnostic imaging; pathology and laboratory medicine; dental surgery; anaesthesiology, including critical care anaesthesiology; and critical care medicine and surgical critical care. The institute laboratory provides round-the-clock diagnostic services.
