My friend took 10 tablets of metformin hydrochloride sustained release and mecobalamin With each tablet having metformin (500mg) and mecobalamin (750mcg). Is she in danger? Did she take too much?

Is 5g of metformin consumed at a time toxic? What can it possibly cause? Can the patient die? If not can there be any long term side effects?

Im experiencing recurrent sore throat that comes and goes. I went to the doctor and did two course of antibiotics which made the symptoms subside. However i live in a colder region (near shimla) and when i had to travel to delhi i had to drink cold drinks due to such hot conditions. As i returned back i immediately felt a sore throat again after sleeping. I have no mucus with no other issues. What should i do now? Thanks
