Details:
Dr. Shanthamma was recommended to us by one of my wife’s cousin, who had three child births at Credence Hospital and was very satisfied by the experience. My wife started consulting Dr. Shanthamma, on the 20th week of pregnancy with twins. She is a celebrity doctor and director of Credence Hospital, but still she is a very knowledgeable and down to earth person. She is very genuine and would never suggest any extra procedures for money sake.
Before visiting her, we had consulted a doctor at Apollo Hospital, Bangalore, who suggested that the cervix should be stitched as a general procedure (even if there is no issue). Luckily we took second opinion and got to know that it was an unnecessary procedure and is required for rare cases. Dr. Shanthamma treated my wife with utmost care and attention to small details. She never rushed to any conclusions. When we had consulted another gynecologist in Bangalore, she suggested that a C-section surgery should be performed on 26th week of pregnancy and babies should be kept in neo natal care till full-term(around 6 weeks). Unlike them Dr. Shanthamma gave us advice that no neo natal care would be better than a mother’s womb. Taking her advice, we decided to wait full-term and had c-section delivery at 32 weeks. Only and only because of her amazing expertise my kids were born with very healthy weight and didn’t have be in natal care at all. They also didn’t have any bilirubin issues.
She suggested my wife to take a medicine to avoid early contractions, which really helped later on. At 28th week, my wife had mild pain, unlike other hospitals/doctors where they would have immediately done a c-section, Dr. Shanthamma gave same mild medicines to minimize symptoms and send my wife home after few hours.
Her experience in handling the most critical situations is amazing. Being new to-be parents, we were over cautious about everything and had million doubts. She made us feel at home and addresses all doubts with ease. Even after being a Public figure, she gives attention to each and every patient. On the day of delivery, my wife was quite scared and requested for the first surgery of the day, which was considered and scheduled accordingly. Everything went fine and my wife and kids were discharged on the third day, unlike some hospitals where they would not discharge for days for extra money. I cannot say enough great things about her.
We will always be thankful for making our first child birth experience eventful and giving our children good health.
