Dr. Rakesh Pravinchandra Patel is a Maharashtra-based Gastroenterologist, who has been in practice since 1995. He can be consulted at Suyash Endoscopy Centre in Ambernath and the Dhruvi Endoscopy and Liver Clinic in Dombivli. He can also be consulted at the Fortis Hospital in Kalyan. Besides this, he also serves as Visiting Gastroenterologist at Icon Hospital, Dombivili, Shree Hospital, Kalyan and Manav Kalyan Kendra, Dombivli.He is visiting gastroenterologist at Fortis hospital Kalyan. Dr. Patel has an impressive academic record, bagging scholarships, prizes, and distinctions throughout. After completing his MBBS in 1989, he obtained an MD postgraduate degree in Medicine and Therapeutics from the University of Mumbai in 1993 and a DNB in Medicine in 1995. In addition, he acquired the DM superspeciality degree in Gastroenterology, also from the University of Mumbai. Besides other citations, he was awarded the Best Thesis prize for his dissertation during the DM course. During his post-graduation years, he was posted as Senior House Officer (Gastroenterology) from June 1993 to May 1994 and as Registrar (Gastroenterology) from June 1994 to October 1995 at Nair Municipal General Hospital, Mumbai. He was also the Registrar (MICU) from January to May 1993 at the Lokmanya Tilak General Hospital in Mumbai. He had also been involved in teaching during his residency.Immediately after obtaining his DM in Gastroenterology, Dr. Rakesh Patel began private practice in 1995. Since then, he has performed some 30,000 endoscopic procedures, including OGDs, Colonoscopies, and ERCPs. He continues to see a large number of patients daily and is adept at handling all GI emergencies as well as the entire range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. He also has good experience in pediatric endoscopies and is capable of performing all upper and lower Gastrointestinal copies. He has a keen interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Liver Diseases.Dr. Patel has worked on a number of clinical trials and other research studies. Over the years, he has authored as well as contributed to various papers connected to his field of expertise, which have been published in peer-reviewed journals and/or presented by him and his co-authors at medical conferences. He is also a regular attendee at trade conferences and workshops across the country and abroad.
