"CD103, also known as integrin alpha E, is an integrin subunit protein, which is widely expressed on T cells. CD103 is a useful diagnostic tool in the diagnosis of hairy cell leukemia. The integrin CD103 is highly expressed at mucosal sites, but its role in mucosal immune regulation remains poorly understood. We have analyzed the functional role of CD103 in intestinal immune regulation using the T cell transfer model of colitis. Our results show no mandatory role for CD103 expression on T cells for either the development or CD4+CD25+
No special preparation is needed for CD 103. Inform your doctor if you are on any medications or have any underlying medical conditions or allergies before undergoing CD 103. Your doctor depending on your condition will give specific instructions.
