What is this test?
This test helps to find whether an individual is allergic to red chilly or not. In this test, a solution containing allergen red chilly is applied to the skin. Then the applied area of the skin is pricked with a lancet needle.
What is Red Chilly allergy?
Red chilly allergy is a type of allergy in which an individual is allergic to red chili and may suffer from symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, watery eyes, runny nose, swelling of the mouth, nausea, vomiting, bloating of the stomach, shortness of the breath, swelling of the lips, itching in the mouth, skin rashes, etc. In severe allergic condition, an individual may suffer from life-threatening anaphylactic shock.
The immune system in the individuals who are allergic to red chilies will produce antibodies against the allergens that are present in the red chilies and they are Cap a-1, Cap a-2. These proteins are responsible for allergic reactions.
Foods to be avoided:
Individuals who are allergic to red chilly should avoid some alternatives to red chilly products and they are spicy pizza, food items with topped chilies, spicy salami, pepper chicken and other spicy food items.
