Parsley has been in human use in the Mediterranean since around 2,000 years ago. This bright green annual herb is now cultivated almost throughout the world. Both roots and leaves can be used. Oil, obtained by steam distillation of ripe seeds of the herb, may be employed for flavouring. Parsley may commonly induce symptoms of food allergy in sensitised individuals, in particular in individuals with allergic rhinitis from a pollen allergy. Symptoms include nasal and eye itchiness, laryngeal oedema, wheezing and common symptoms of food allergy. Anaphylaxis and severe attacks of angioedema and urticaria have been reported. Parsley is an herb which is considered to be safe when it comes to allergic infection. However, if you are taking the herb and suffering from symptoms that lead to urinary tract infection, kidney stones, GI disorders, constipation, and intestinal gas and so on, then you may be allergic to the herb. To know the infection, you are required to have a parsley allergic test in which the IgE antibodies in your blood are tested to see if you are allergic or not. A skin prick test can also be suggested but only when you are showing allergy on your skin. This IgE antibody allergy test uses a blood sample to determine if you are allergic to parsley, an herb commonly used in cooking and cuisine. Traditional allergy tests utilize the Skin Prick method (also known as a Puncture or Scratch test) to determine whether an allergic reaction will occur by inserting possible triggers into your skin using a needle prick. If you are allergic to the substance, you are forced to suffer through your body's reaction to the allergen.
