Dr. Prakash Patil

Dr Prakash Vishwanath Patil is a young and dynamic Orthopaedic Surgeon at Sahyadri Speciality Hospital Nashik. He did his M.B.B.S from RMC, Loni, Ahmednagar. He completed his post graduation by doing Diplomate in National Board (DNB) Orthopedics conducted by National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. He then worked as Senior Registrar in Orthopaedics Department in Jehangir Hospital, Pune.He also worked as Trauma Surgeon at the Emergency center of Jehangir Hospital, Pune.He has the experience of working in numerous hospitals of BMC, Mumbai where he worked in Trauma Intensive Care Unit before joining Wockhardt Hospital, Nashik in May 2009.The thirst for knowledge made him travel around the world.He received extensive training in the field of Joint Replacement and Arthroscopy by being trained under stalwarts in the field of Orthopedic Surgery when he was in Europe. He underwent his super specialised training in Joint replacement and Arthroscopy while pursuing MCh(Orth) degree from Ninewells Hospital, UK from University of Dundee which has been accredited by the Royal college of Surgeons, England. He perceived extensive exposure in advanced orthopaedics in Glasgow and Edinburgh. He completed his Fellowship in Joint Replacement and Arthroscopy from Edith Cavell Hospital, Brussels, Belgium under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Marc Clemens who is one of the pioneers in starting Joint Replacement and Arthroscopy in West Europe. He has been at the center of excellence in the field of Trauma and Reconstructive surgery at Katherinen Hospital, Stuttgart, Germany .He learned various techniques in Arthroscopy through French Orthopedic Surgeon Dr M Collete trained in Touluse, France. He is a keen academician. He has been instrumental in developing Orthopaedics department at SMBT Institute of Medical Science and Research center Medical College Hospital, Dhamangaon, Ghoti, Nashik where he looked at the department as Unit head and Head of Department. He has interest in the field of research in Orthopedics. He has presented various scientific papers at the International and State Conferences. He presented his scientific work at the International Orthopedics Conference held by SICOT in combined meeting with the Swedish Orthopedic Society in Sweden. He has conducted various CME for practicing Doctors and Specialists. He is a member of various National and International Societies like IOA, MOA, ISHKS, IAS, NAILS, TSI and SICOT (Belgium).He was also offered the rank of Captain by Indian Army during his AMC selection at New Delhi.He will be performing Joint Replacement, Arthroscopy, and advanced orthopaedic procedures along with routine trauma. He will be available for his services full time at Sahyadri Speciality Hospital Nashik, Mumbai Agra Road, Near Dwarka Circle, Wadala Road, Nashik-422001.
