She has worked as a Senior Resident in Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi for 3 years and then as Assistant Professor in the Dept. Of Dermatology, PGIMER, Chandigarh for a year. She has subsequently been in Private Practice and started her own clinic in 2008. She strives to use her extensive clinical experience to guide her patients and emphasize the need to balance the quest for beautification with the importance for long term skin health.

She started shouting like anything and said do not talk like shopkeepers and she used the word ridi.culous with me of which I raised a question that doctors don't use these kind of words with patients. 2 years back I was having my face full of severe acne. I consulted so many doctors in so many hospitals but nothing changed and on the other hand the situation was getting worse only. One day my friend suggested to consult Dr. Shikha at least once. I went there the very next day and met Dr. Shikha. It just took 6 months to clear my face and regain my inner confidence. That day and today I have never consulted any other dermat because my trust for Dr. Shikha is just on another level. She was rude not once but both the times I visited her. Whatever is being recommended, the patient has the right to ask questions on that. Saying things like you are whiling my time away, I have to give extra consultation time because of these questions. What is your degree? If none then let me do the talking and you do the listening. It is just not acceptable. ****** * ****** *** *** ******** **** ** *** ******* *** ******** **** *** ** *** ****** **** * *** **** ******** *** ********* I was told I have a scalp with dandruff and that’s causing me acne. My degree may not be related to skin, but I’ve lived with myself for 28 years and never have I experienced acne nor have had dandruff so all
I said was I don’t have dandruff and whatever the bumps are on my face, doesn’t look like acne. Literally the first 2 statements after entering her clinic and she asked what is your degree, extremely rudely. And then went on ahead to explain about the acne. A PATIENT SHOULD KNOW WHAT IS BEING PRESCRIBED TO THEM, WHAT MEDICATION IS BEING DONE AND WHY. If the doctor doesn’t have the patience to answer questions or doubts, and says things like the questions are not worthy of my time is UNACCEPTABLE.
