Description

Zix 50 MG Tablet is used to relieve pain in the conditions like Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Ankylosing Spondylitis. Do not take this medicine if you have any bleeding disorder, asthma or have a known allergy.

General warnings

Gastro-intestinal bleeding

Zix 50 MG Tablet can cause severe bleeding when taken for a long time. Elderly population with the history of the gastrointestinal disease are at higher risk.

Heart surgery

Zix 50 MG Tablet should not be taken to relieve pain before or after undergoing a CABG (coronary artery bypass surgery).

Asthma

Zix 50 MG Tablet is not recommended if you have asthma or family history of asthma.

Impaired kidney function

Zix 50 MG Tablet is not recommended if you are suffering from impaired kidney function.

Impaired liver function

Use with caution with an initial dose of 100 mg once a day in the mild liver failure. Contraindicated in severe liver failure.

Missed Dose

The missed dose can be taken as soon as you remember. However, the missed dose should be skipped if it is almost time for your next dose.

Overdose

A doctor should be contacted immediately if an overdose of Zix 50 MG Tablet is suspected. Signs and symptoms of overdose include rashes on the skin, confusion, pain in the chest, blurred vision etc. Immediate medical attention is needed if an overdose is confirmed.

Interaction with Alcohol

Description

Drinking alcohol with this medicine substantially increases the risks of stomach bleeding.

Gastro-Intestinal toxicity

Zix 50 MG Tablet and other NSAIDs should be taken after consulting a doctor especially if the intended duration is longer than a month. Any symptom indicating ulceration and bleeding like chronic indigestion, appearance of coffee colored dry blood in stools or vomiting of blood should be reported immediately.

Impaired kidney function

Zix 50 MG Tablet should be taken after consulting a doctor if you suffering from a kidney disease. Suitable adjustment in dosage and monitoring of kidney functions is required in such situations.
