Description
Zaxpam 30 mg Tablet is used to relieve the symptoms of anxiety and control the agitation in alcohol withdrawal patients. It should be started at lower doses and gradually increased. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly as it may cause withdrawal symptoms like mood changes, irritability, dizziness, numbness in the hands or feet, and difficulty in falling asleep.

Closed angle glaucoma

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of Closed Angle Glaucoma due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Psychotic reactions

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with depressive neuroses or any psychotic reactions due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless absolutely necessary. The risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine.

Breast-feeding

This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. The risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine.
General warnings

Drug dependence

This medicine has the tendency to cause dependency and abuse particularly after prolonged use or excessive dosages. Individuals with a history of alcohol or substance abuse should be treated carefully when they are on Zaxpam 30 mg Tablet. The withdrawal of this medicine should be tapered off gradually.

Driving or Operating machinery

This medicine may cause dizziness and drowsiness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Suicidal tendency

Use of benzodiazepines in depression conditions may increase the risk of suicide. Therefore this medicine should be used with caution and prescription size should be limited in patients with depression or suicidal tendencies.

Elderly population

Use with caution in individuals who are 60 years and above due to the increased risk of sedation and muscle weakness.

Withdrawal symptoms

This medicine should not be stopped immediately without informing the doctor due to the risk of withdrawal symptoms like convulsions, behavioral disorder, tremor, and anxiety. Gradual dose reduction should be made based on the outcomes in the patient.

Paradoxical reactions

Use of this medicine may cause paradoxical reactions such as aggressive behavior, agitation, nervousness, excitability, irritability, sleep disturbances, nightmares, etc. in some patients. Close monitoring of the clinical condition, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative might be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Obesity

This medicine should be used with caution in obese patients. Close monitoring of the clinical condition and appropriate dose adjustments may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Use in children

The safety and efficacy of this medicine in children less than 6 years of age is not clinically established. This medicine should be used with extreme caution in children 6 to 12 years of age.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.
