Description
Zanocin 50 MG Syrup is an antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections affecting your lungs, skin, and urinary tract (the kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra). It works by stopping the growth of bacteria that causes infection. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Zanocin 50 MG Syrup can cause side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or get worse. Avoid activities that require mental focus like driving and operating machines as this medicine may cause dizziness. Zanocin 50 MG Syrup can be taken with or without food as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will determine the dose depending on your condition. Take this medicine around the same time every day for the ease of remembering. Complete the whole treatment even if you feel better after a few doses. Zanocin 50 MG Syrup is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Allergy

Antibiotic resistance

Photosensitivity

Zanocin 50 MG Syrup may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight or UV light. Hence, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or artificial UV rays. Use sunscreens or wear protective clothing before going out in the sun to avoid any unwanted reactions.

Diarrhoea

Zanocin 50 MG Syrup can cause diarrhoea because it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Inform your doctor if you experience severe diarrhoea during the treatment with this medicine.

Antacids

If you are taking an antacid containing aluminium or magnesium salts for indigestion, it can increase the time it takes for Zanocin 50 MG Syrup to act on your body. Hence, it is recommended to take this antibiotic at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking antacids.

Liver impairment

Zanocin 50 MG Syrup should be used with caution if you have liver problems as this medicine may cause further liver damage. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your liver function during treatment with this medicine.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Zanocin 50 MG Syrup. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If the time for your next dose is near, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to compensate for the missed dose.

Zanocin 50 MG Syrup may cause tremors (involuntary muscle contraction leading to tremors/shaking movement of hands and feet), agitation, restlessness, anxiety, confusion, seizures (sudden, uncontrolled brain activity causing fits), etc. Hence, Zanocin 50 MG Syrup should be used with caution if you have seizures or other central nervous system abnormalities (related to the brain and spinal cord).

Colitis

Zanocin 50 MG Syrup can kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and lead to diarrhoea. Therefore, this medicine should be used with extreme caution if you have stomach and intestinal problems, particularly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon), since it may worsen your condition.
