Description
Tablura 80 Tablet is an antipsychotic medicine (medicines used to treat mental conditions). It is used for the treatment of schizophrenia (a mental condition in which a person is unable to differentiate between the real-world and imaginary world) and episodes of depression in bipolar disorder (a mental condition with extreme mood swings with an emotional high or low). It works by blocking the release of certain chemicals that cause such conditions. Tablura 80 Tablet shows common side effects such as stiffness in muscles, weight gain, nausea, vomiting, running nose, sleep problems, and restlessness. If these symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor for further assistance. Avoid driving vehicles or operating heavy machines as it can cause drowsiness. Tablura 80 Tablet should be taken with food. Do not chew, crush, or break the tablet. Swallow it as a whole with plenty of water. Take the medicine at the same time daily for ease of remembering. Avoid consuming grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as it can increase the concentration of Tablura 80 Tablet in your bloodstream leading to increased side effects. Do not discontinue the medicine without consulting your doctor, as it can worsen your condition. Tablura 80 Tablet is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Take this medicine with caution if you have heart conditions, depression, abnormally low blood pressure, increased fat levels, high blood sugar levels, or low white blood cell count. Inform your doctor before taking the medicine if you have breast cancer, high prolactin levels, seizures (a brain condition due to abnormal electrical activity in the brain leading to jerking movements, fear, anxiety, and loss of consciousness), or liver/kidney conditions. Tablura 80 Tablet is not recommended if you have neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS), characterised by high body temperature, muscle rigidity, altered mental status, irregular blood pressure, irregular heart rhythm, etc., as it can worsen your condition. Tablura 80 Tablet should only be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding after consulting your doctor. It is not recommended for use in children below 10 years of age to treat bipolar disorder and below 13 years of age to treat schizophrenia.

Allergy

Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors

CYP3A4 inhibitors are a class of medicines that can inhibit the activity of the CYP3A4 enzyme. Tablura 80 Tablet is not recommended for use if you are receiving treatment with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as Ketoconazole, Clarithromycin, Voriconazole, etc., due to the increased risk of serious side effects.

Strong CYP3A4 Inducers

CYP3A4 is an enzyme in the body that is responsible for the breakdown of toxins and medicines so that they can get removed from the body. CYP3A4 inducers are medicine that may increase the activity of the CYP3A4 enzyme. Tablura 80 Tablet is not recommended for use if you are receiving treatment with strong CYP3A4 inducers such as Rifampin, Phenytoin, Carbamazepine, etc., as it may worsen your condition.

Suicidal ideation

Tablura 80 Tablet should be used with caution as it may cause an increase in prolactin (a hormone that causes breast tissue development and milk production after delivery) levels in the body and increase the risk of breast cancer. Follow all the instructions given by your doctor.

Liver or kidney conditions

Heart condition

Hypotension

Tardive dyskinesia

Tardive dyskinesia is a movement disorder characterised by involuntary and abnormal movements of the jaw, lips, tongue, trunk, and extremities. Tablura 80 Tablet should be used with extreme caution as it may cause tardive dyskinesia.

Driving or operating machines

Tablura 80 Tablet may cause drowsiness. Hence avoid driving vehicles or operating machines if you feel drowsy after taking the medicine.

Missed Dose

Do not miss the dose of Tablura 80 Tablet. Take the missed dose as soon as possible. Skip the missed dose if it is already time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Do not take more than the recommended dose of Tablura 80 Tablet. Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose.

Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS)

Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) is a rare but life-threatening reaction that can occur in response to the use of antipsychotic medication. It is characterised by high body temperature, muscle rigidity, altered mental status, irregular blood pressure, irregular heart rhythm, etc. Tablura 80 Tablet is not recommended if you have neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) as it can worsen your condition.

Consumption of grapefruit juice is not recommended during treatment with Tablura 80 Tablet as it may increase the blood levels and effects of this medicine, thus increasing the risk of undesired effects.
