Description
Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR is a heart medicine that contains Metoprolol. It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), angina pectoris (chest pain caused when your heart muscle does not get enough oxygen-rich blood), and arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat). Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR helps in preventing heart attack (a blockage of blood flow to the heart muscle) and stroke (damage to the brain from interruption of its blood supply). Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR works by reducing the rate and force of the contractions of your heart. Thus it decreases high blood pressure. Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR may cause side effects like headache, breathing difficulty, low blood pressure, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist for a longer time. This medicine may also cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine. Do not take Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR if you are allergic to it. Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR should be taken with food or immediately after food. For the ease of remembering, take this medicine around the same time every day. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor. Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR may interact with other medicines. Allergy

Missed Dose

Do not skip any dose of Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR. If you forget to take a dose of Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

Asthma/ COPD

Use Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR with caution if you have a respiratory condition such as asthma (a condition in which a person's airways become inflamed, narrow and swell and produce extra mucus, which makes it difficult to breathe) or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD; a group of lung diseases that block airflow and make it difficult to breathe). Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR can cause shortness of breath and also worsen other respiratory symptoms.

Diabetes

Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR can mask the symptoms of low blood sugar if you have diabetes. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your blood sugar levels while on treatment with this medicine.

Liver disease

Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR should be used with extreme caution if you have a liver problem. This medicine breaks down in your liver and is excreted through urine. Using this medicine while you have pre-existing liver troubles can further worsen your condition.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma or high eye pressure occurs when the nerve connecting the eye to the brain is damaged. Take Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR with caution if you have such a condition as it may increase the risk of mydriasis (a condition in which the pupil of the eye gets widened due to increased eye pressure).

Hyperlipidaemia

Hyperlipidaemia is a condition in which there are high levels of fat or cholesterol in the blood. Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR can increase the cholesterol levels in your blood. Hence use Sitelol 25 MG Tablet XR with caution.
