Description
Psoricort H 0.05 % Gel is a type of corticosteroid medication used to treat various skin conditions such as eczema (dry and itchy skin) and dermatitis (skin irritation). This medicine functions by blocking specific chemicals in the body that cause swelling, itching, and irritation. Additionally, it removes dead skin cells and encourages the healing process. Psoricort H 0.05 % Gel may cause side effects such as thinning of the skin, redness, itching, irritation, burning sensation, etc. If these symptoms do not subside on their own, consult your doctor. Avoid using this medicine if you are allergic to it. Also, Psoricort H 0.05 % Gel should not be used if you have a fungal skin infection. Psoricort H 0.05 % Gel is for external use only. Avoid contact with your eyes, ears, nose, mouth and open wounds. In case of accidental contact, wash thoroughly with water. Do not apply more than the prescribed quantity of this medicine. Hyperadrenocorticism

Hyperadrenocorticism is also known as Cushing's syndrome, a condition that occurs from exposure to high cortisol levels for a long time. High doses of Psoricort H 0.05 % Gel when taken for a long time may lead to Cushing's syndrome Any symptoms like excess sweating, excessive hunger, fatigue, flushing, high blood pressure, or osteoporosis, increase in blood sugar levels should be reported to the doctor immediately.

Ocular Toxicities

Treatment with Psoricort H 0.05 % Gel is reported to increase intraocular pressure and cause glaucoma (a condition where the pressure in the eyeballs is abnormally high that can damage the optic nerve and lead to eventual loss of vision) or cataract. Hence, it is better to report to your doctor if you have any vision problems.
