Description
Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection is a synthetic progestogen medication. It has a similar action to the female hormone progesterone that helps to regulate ovulation. It is also used to lower the risk of miscarriages or premature birth in women. It is also effectively used for the treatment of menstrual disorders caused due to a deficiency of this hormone in the body. Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection may have side effects like headache, nausea, stomach pain, itching, redness and pain at the site of injection. Inform your doctor if any of these side effects worsen or persist for a long time. Avoid receiving this medicine if you are allergic to it. Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection is a prescription medicine. It should be administered into your vein by a health care professional in a hospital or clinic. Avoid using Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection without consulting your doctor. Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age. Allergy

Thus, it may worsen your condition. for use in patients having liver disease or impairment of normal liver function.

Breast/Uterine cancer

Breast cancer is a condition in women where the cells grow abnormally and form a lump. Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection is not recommended if you have breast or uterine cancer as it may worsen your condition.

Heart and blood vessel disorder

Avoid using Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection if you have a history of stroke (brain damage due to blocked blood flow), heart attack or any medical condition that causes blood clotting problems. Using this medicine increases the risk of blood coagulation which may worsen your condition. Inform your doctor about your medical history before taking this medicine.

General warnings

Fluid retention

Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection can cause fluid retention and oedema (swelling of the tissues beneath your skin) especially when used for a long period. Use it with caution if you have a history of excess fluid retention.

Vision abnormalities

Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection may cause vision problems like blurred or double vision, or loss of vision. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience these vision problems, also do not drive or operate heavy machines.

Diabetes

Use of Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection can affect the blood glucose levels and hence caution is advised while treating diabetic patients.

Initiation of therapy

Appropriate diagnostic tests and physical examinations should be performed to rule out other risk factors for preterm birth and miscarriages. Any hormone related cancer of the breast or uterus should also be ruled out before starting the treatment with this medicine.

Weight gain

Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection may lead to weight gain, especially when you take it for a long time.

Retinal thrombosis

Retinal thrombosis is an eye condition that occurs as a result of blood clot formation in the vein in the retina (part of the eye that enables vision). It is a painless condition that causes blurring or loss of eyesight. It usually always occurs in only one eye. Use Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection with caution if you have renal thrombosis as it may cause side effects such as loss of vision, blurred vision, or retinal vascular lesions. This risk is especially high if you have a history of vision problems or have active vision problems.

Hyperlipidaemia

Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection should be used with extreme caution if you are diagnosed with hyperlipidaemia (increased fat levels in the blood) as it may increase the fat deposits and worsen your condition.

Prolustar Depo. 500 MG Injection works by imitating the effect of progesterone (female hormone) in your body.
