Primozyn 5 MG Syrup is an anti-allergy medicine used to treat the symptoms of allergy. It is also used to prevent and/or control nausea and vomiting due to various conditions (such as motion sickness, surgery). It has mild sedative (sleepiness) properties, therefore it is used to relax and sedate patients before and after surgery. Primozyn 5 MG Syrup works by blocking the action of certain chemicals in your body. Primozyn 5 MG Syrup shows some side effects like dry mouth, blurred vision, headache, constipation, and dizziness. Most of these are temporary and go away on their own. Consult your doctor if they are worrying you. Avoid doing any activity that requires mental focus like driving, as this medicine can make you feel sleepy. Primozyn 5 MG Syrup is usually taken with or without food. For allergies, take it preferably at bedtime so that the sleepiness does not affect your daily activities. Take this medicine around the same time every day so that there is a constant level of medicine in your body. You should not take a higher dose or take this medication more often than directed by your doctor. Primozyn 5 MG Syrup is not recommended if you have breathing problems like asthma. You should inform your doctor if you have any pre-existing conditions like epilepsy, heart diseases, or liver diseases as this medicine can deteriorate such conditions. Your doctor may adjust the dose to use this medicine safely. Tell your doctor if you are taking any medicines as they can interact with Primozyn 5 MG Syrup. Allergy

Asthma

Primozyn 5 MG Syrup is not recommended for use if you have asthma or any chronic respiratory diseases as this medicine can increase the production of mucous which can obstruct your airway tubes.

Central nervous system depression

Primozyn 5 MG Syrup is not recommended for people who are in a coma, or have severe central nervous system depression (reduced brain activity). This medicine can further depress brain activity and respiratory functions in such conditions.

Use in children below 2 years of age

Primozyn 5 MG Syrup is not recommended in children below 2 years as it may cause breathing to slow down or stop.

Primozyn 5 MG Syrup is taken with or without as instructed by your doctor. Shake the bottle well before use. Primozyn 5 MG Syrup is used for short-term treatment only. Talk to your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after few days. Make sure you check the expiry date before using the syrup. For motion sickness, take the first dose 30 to 60 minutes before you start travelling. Avoid activities that require mental focus while taking this medicine. Primozyn 5 MG Syrup can cause dizziness so try standing up slowly to avoid feeling dizzy. Do not drink alcohol while taking this syrup as it can make you feel more sleepy.
