Description
Pedidot Powder is an antidiarrheal medicine which is used for the treatment of acute diarrhea. This treatment should be continued until the frequency of stools reached to normal. This medicine should be discontinued if any symptoms of skin reactions appear.

This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from kidney diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of kidney function tests is necessary while receiving this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Liver impairment

This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function tests is necessary while receiving this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Severe vomiting

The availability of this medicine is decreased in patients with severe vomiting, therefore not used in patients with severe vomiting.

Skin reactions

This medicine is known to cause mild to moderate skin reactions. The treatment should be discontinued if any symptoms of skin rash appear.

How it works
This medicine works by decreases the movement of fluids from the stomach and intestine. The reduced bowel activity makes the food stay longer in the intestine resulting in increased absorption of water and symptoms of diarrhea are relieved.
