Racecadotril

Description

Racecadotril is an antidiarrheal which works by decreasing the intestinal secretion. The treatment should be continued until the frequency of stools reached to two. The treatment should be discontinued if any symptoms of skin reactions appear.

Impaired liver function

This medicine is not recommended in patients with liver impairment.

Severe vomiting

The availability of this medicine is decreased in patients with severe vomiting, therefore not used in patients with severe vomiting.

Skin reactions

This medicine is known to cause mild to moderate skin reactions. The treatment should be discontinued if any symptoms of skin rash appear.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Racecadotril, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.
