Description
Olkem Trio 6.25 Tablet is an anti-hypertensive (blood pressure lowering) medicine that consists of Chlorthalidone, Cilnidipine, and Olmesartan. It is used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). Olkem Trio 6.25 Tablet works by relaxing the blood vessels and increasing the water and sodium excretion from the body, thus controlling your blood pressure. It may also reduce the risk of heart attack (a blockage of blood flow to the heart muscle) or stroke (a condition that causes damage to the brain due to interrupted blood supply) by promoting the smooth flow of blood throughout your body. Olkem Trio 6.25 Tablet shows some common side effects like swelling in your ankles or feet, back pain, headache, nausea, diarrhoea, and stomach pain. Most of these side effects are temporary and usually resolve with time. Olkem Trio 6.25 Tablet can also cause sleepiness and dizziness, so avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine. Avoid consuming alcohol during treatment with this medicine as it can worsen dizziness. Olkem Trio 6.25 Tablet can be taken with or without food. The dose will be determined by your doctor depending on your blood pressure levels. Do not stop using this medicine without consulting your doctor, as abrupt discontinuation may cause an elevation in blood pressure and increase the risk of other complications. Maintain a strict diet regimen and exercise regularly along with taking this medicine to get the best possible effect. Olkem Trio 6.25 Tablet is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. If you have pre-existing kidney or liver problems or any other medical conditions, consult your doctor before taking this medicine. Inform your doctor about all medicines and supplements you are taking, as this medicine can interact with them and cause side effects. Olkem Trio 6.25 Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

How it works
Olkem Trio 6.25 Tablet is a combination of Chlorthalidone, Cilnidipine, and Olmesartan. Chlorthalidone works by increasing the excretion of water and sodium from the kidneys via urine. This helps in controlling blood pressure as well as reducing oedema (swelling caused by excess fluid trapped in your body's tissues, most often in your feet, ankles, and legs). Cilnidipine and Olmesartan both relax the blood vessels, thus improving blood flow and reducing blood pressure levels.
