General warnings

Diarrhoea

Novefos Sachet may cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora of the large intestine, which may promote the growth of a bacteria called Clostridium difficile and cause diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if you experience a severe and persistent diarrhoea, severe stomach pain, blood in the stool, etc.

Drug resistance

Use of Novefos Sachet without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational use of this medicine may increase the risk of antibiotic resistance (bacteria develop the ability to defeat the antibiotics designed to kill them). Also, ensure that you complete the course of treatment even if you feel better after a few days to prevent such resistance.

Kidney impairment

Novefos Sachet is excreted through the kidneys, and impaired kidneys may lead to the accumulation of the medicine in the body. Thus it may increase the risk of side effects.
