Description
Modalert 200 mg Tablet is used to promote wakefulness in patients with extreme sleepiness during daytime or sleepiness due to sleeping disorders. It also helps in staying awake during work hours if the work schedule is not adjusted to having a scheduled sleeping time. It will not cure the sleep disorders or get rid of all kind of sleepiness. It should not be used to hold off sleep in those who do not have any sleeping disorders.

General warnings

Severe hepatic impairment

The dose should be reduced to half of the normal dose in patients with severe hepatic impairment. A normal dose may cause severe side effects in such patients.

Dizziness

This medicine may not completely cure the sleepiness caused by your disorder. This may cause drowsiness or dizziness. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving a vehicle or operating machinery during treatment with this medicine.

Consumption of alcohol

Do not consume alcohol during treatment with Modalert 200 mg Tablet due to the increased risk of drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired judgment.

Grapefruit or grapefruit juice

Consumption of grapefruit or grapefruit juice is not recommended during treatment with this medicine since the combination may decrease the effects of Modalert 200 mg Tablet.

Sports

It is advised that you do not indulge in sports during treatment with this medicine. Sportspersons should refer to the list published by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for medicines which should not be taken while participating in specific sports events.

Missed Dose

If a dose of Modalert 200 mg Tablet is missed, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. If it is almost time for the next dose, continue with the normal dosing schedule. Do not double your dose to make up for the forgotten dose. It is advised that you do not take this medicine if it is too late in a waking day since you may find it difficult to sleep at night.
