Description
Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR is a heart medicine that contains Metoprolol. It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), angina pectoris (chest pain caused when your heart muscle does not get enough oxygen-rich blood), and arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat). Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR helps in preventing heart attack (a blockage of blood flow to the heart muscle) and stroke (damage to the brain from interruption of its blood supply). Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR works by reducing the rate and force of the contractions of your heart. Thus it decreases high blood pressure. Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR may cause side effects like headache, breathing difficulty, low blood pressure, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist for a longer time. This medicine may also cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine. Do not take Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR if you are allergic to it. Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR can be taken with food or immediately after food. For the ease of remembering, take this medicine around the same time every day. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor. Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR may interact with other medicines. Allergy

Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR can cause shortness of breath and also worsen other respiratory symptoms.

Diabetes

Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR can mask the symptoms of low blood sugar if you have diabetes. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your blood sugar levels while on treatment with this medicine.

Liver disease

Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR should be used with extreme caution if you have a liver problem. This medicine breaks down in your liver and is excreted through urine. Using this medicine while you have pre-existing liver troubles can further worsen your condition.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma or high eye pressure occurs when the nerve connecting the eye to the brain is damaged. Take Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR with caution if you have such a condition as it may increase the risk of mydriasis (a condition in which the pupil of the eye gets widened due to increased eye pressure).

Hyperlipidaemia

Hyperlipidaemia is a condition in which there are high levels of fat or cholesterol in the blood. Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR can increase the cholesterol levels in your blood. Hence use Metlol 50 MG Capsule SR with caution.
