Description
Lopide 2 MG Tablet is a very effective anti-diarrhea medication. It is used to relieve the symptoms of diarrhea that start suddenly and lasts for a few days. It is also used to treat long-term diarrhea associated with other diseases.

Allergy

Acute colitis

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from an infected colon or infectious diarrhea/dysentery. Symptoms may include bloody stools and high fever. The infection could be caused by Clostridium, Salmonella, Shigella or Campylobacter strains of bacteria.

Antibiotic induced diarrhea

This medicine is not recommended for use if you have an episode of diarrhea caused by antibiotic usage.

This medicine is not recommended for use during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary. Consult your doctor about the potential benefits and risks before deciding to take this medicine.

Breast-feeding

General warnings

Driving or operating machinery

This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

No symptomatic improvement

Use of this medicine should be discontinued if the symptoms do not improve within 48 hours in patients with acute diarrhea.

Heart conditions

This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from heart diseases due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Close monitoring of vital signs and heart function, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Other medicines

Infectious diarrhea

Use of this medicine is not recommended for infectious diarrhea characterized by the presence of pus or blood in stools, high fever etc. Acute diarrhea and dysentery caused by bacteria should not be treated with this medicine.

AIDS

This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from AIDS and receiving treatment with antiviral medications due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Use in children

This medicine should be used with extreme caution and only under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional in children and It is not recommended for use in patients less than 2 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Constipation

Use of this medication is not recommended in patients suffering from blockage of intestine and constipation.

Missed Dose

This medicine is not taken in a scheduled way and hence missing a dose is not possible. However, care should be taken to not exceed the daily recommended limit.

Overdose
