Description

Imectin 3 MG Tablet is an antiparasitic agent which is used in the treatment of worm infections in the intestine and skin.Take this medicine as a single dose on an empty stomach. Do not use in children with weight less than 15 kg.

    Imectin 3 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of onchocerciasis which is a parasitic worm infection caused by Onchocerca volvulus transmitted through the bite of black flies characterized by skin itching and vision impairment.
  • Strongyloidiasis

    Imectin 3 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of strongyloidiasis which is an intestinal infection caused by a roundworm called Strongyloides stercoralis characterized by abdominal pain and diarrhea.
  • Scabies

    Imectin 3 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of scabies which is a skin infection caused by the mite called Sarcoptes scabiei characterized by itching and red rashes on the skin.

Contraindications of Imectin 3 MG Tablet

  • Allergy

    Not recommended in patients with known allergy to Imectin 3 MG Tablet.

Dosage

  • Missed Dose

    Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.
  • Overdose

General Instructions

Take Imectin 3 MG Tablet as advised by the doctor. Do not take in larger quantities than advised. The cream should be applied on the affected area without count with eyes, lips, and mucosa. Do not take if you have any allergy to this medicine. Inform the doctor if you develop any skin reactions.

General warnings

  • Mazzotti reaction

    - Patients being treated with Imectin 3 MG Tablet for onchocerciasis may experience mazzotti reaction which are cutaneous and systemic adverse effect. These patients should be monitored closely. Supportive care should be initiated based on the severity.
  • Pretreatment assessment for Loa loa infection

    - Patients with significant exposure to endemic areas and being treated with Imectin 3 MG Tablet for onchocerciasis may have an increase in the risk of fatal encephalopathy. The symptoms include neck pain, red eye, urinary and fecal incontinence, mental status changes, seizures, or coma. Therefore, pretreatment assessment for loiasis is necessary.
  • Pediatric use

    - This medicine is not recommended for children with body weight less than 15 kg.
