Description
Fluocin Eye Drops is a corticosteroid medication that contains Fluorometholone. It is used to treat pain, swelling, itching, and redness of the eye caused due to surgery, injury, or allergy. It works by blocking the release of prostaglandins, certain chemical messengers that cause redness and swelling in the eye. Fluocin Eye Drops has some side effects like mild eye irritation, itching, blurred vision, etc. These side effects will subside by themselves. Consult your doctor if they bother you for a long time or worsen. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to it. Fluocin Eye Drops is for ophthalmic use only. Do not instil into your ears. Use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all the instructions given in the package insert. Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the dropper close to your eye with the tip facing downwards. Squeeze the dropper so that a drop of medicine falls in the pocket. Do not use more than the prescribed dose. Close your eyes for two to three minutes and repeat the same for the next dose. Fluocin Eye Drops may not be suitable for all people. It is not recommended for use in children below two years of age. Inform your doctor if you are using any other eye medications before using this medicine. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding before using this medicine.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a condition where the pressure in the eyeballs is abnormally high that can damage the optic nerve and lead to eventual loss of vision. Use Fluocin Eye Drops with caution as it may further increase the risk of worsening your condition.

Contact lens

Fluocin Eye Drops should be used with caution if you are wearing contact lenses. Remove the contact lenses before instilling the eye drops and wait for 15 minutes before putting them back in the eyes.

Driving vehicles and operating machines

Fluocin Eye Drops may cause temporary blurring of vision or visual disturbances. If you experience such symptoms, avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after using these eye drops.

Use Fluocin Eye Drops with extreme caution if you have a history of Cataracts (clouding of clear eye lens), Glaucoma (blurred vision caused due to increased fluid pressure inside your eyeball) as it may worsen your condition.

Use Fluocin Eye Drops as directed by your doctor. Follow all the instructions given on the label carefully. Wash your hands before and after each use. Avoid touching the tip of the dropper against your eye or other surfaces. Do not wipe or rinse the dropper tip. Always close the cover of the bottle after use to keep it clean and free from contamination. Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before instilling other medications in the same eye. Do not use Fluocin Eye Drops if the seal is broken before you use it for the first time. Also, avoid using this medicine if the solution is cloudy or the colour has changed. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after using these eye drops until your vision is clear. Keep the medicine away from the reach of children and pets. Ensure that unused or expired medicine is disposed of properly.
