Description
Enidazol 500 MG Tablet is an antibiotic, used in the treatment of certain types of vaginal infections like bacterial vaginosis (an infection caused by an overgrowth of harmful bacteria in the vagina) and trichomoniasis (a sexually transmitted disease that can affect men and women). Enidazol 500 MG Tablet is also used to treat certain types of parasite infections like giardiasis (an infection of the intestine that can cause diarrhoea, gas, and stomach cramps), and amebiasis (an infection of the intestine that can cause diarrhoea, gas, stomach cramps and can spread to other organs such as the liver). This medicine works by stopping the growth of certain bacteria and parasites. Enidazol 500 MG Tablet show some side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and skin rash. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist for a long time. Avoid taking this medicine if you have a known allergy to it. Enidazol 500 MG Tablet can cause drowsiness. Avoid the consumption of alcohol while you take this medicine as it may cause excessive drowsiness. Also, do not drive or perform any activity that needs mental alertness while you take Enidazol 500 MG Tablet. Enidazol 500 MG Tablet should be taken with food, every day at the same time to get the desired result. Avoid consuming more than the prescribed dose and make sure that the course of treatment must be completed as directed by your doctor. Enidazol 500 MG Tablet can interact with other medications and health conditions. To make sure this medicine is safe for you, inform your doctor if you have had any medical condition or disorders of the kidney, heart or liver, etc. Inform your doctor about any other medications that you are taking. General warnings

Blood cell count

In people with low blood cell count, prolonged treatment with Enidazol 500 MG Tablet is reported to further decrease the cell count. Your doctor may switch the therapy based on the clinical condition.

Neurologic Toxicity

Enidazol 500 MG Tablet may cause neurological effects like convulsions and peripheral neuropathy. Inform your doctor if you have any neurological problems. Any symptoms like convulsions, tingling or burning sensation of hands and feet should be reported to your doctor.

Dialysis

Dialysis is a procedure to remove waste products and excess fluid from the blood when the kidneys stop working properly. The desired effect of Enidazol 500 MG Tablet is not achieved in people undergoing dialysis. It is necessary to schedule the dose for administration after the dialysis procedure or supplemental doses can be given after dialysis.

Driving or Operating machines

Enidazol 500 MG Tablet may cause dizziness, confusion, or fits in some people. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

Kidney Disease

High doses and prolonged use of Enidazol 500 MG Tablet may increase the risk of kidney injury. Your doctor may advise regular kidney function tests and adjust the dose of the medicine based on the creatinine clearance (CrCl).

Liver Disease

Enidazol 500 MG Tablet may cause liver injury. The levels of liver enzymes should be obtained before initiating the therapy. Any signs of elevation in the liver enzymes should be informed to your doctor. He may discontinue the treatment until the levels are normal.
