Description
Delpocure 100 MG Suspension is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, nose, throat, ears, skin, bladder, etc in children. It is also used to treat typhoid fever. This medicine prevents infection by killing or stopping the growth of bacteria. Delpocure 100 MG Suspension is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Delpocure 100 MG Suspension shows some common side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Do not give this medicine if your child is allergic to it. Consult your child's doctor if any side effects are seen for a long time. Delpocure 100 MG Suspension can be given with or without food. For the ease of remembering, give the syrup to your child at the same time every day. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medication, you may repeat the dose. Once your child starts taking the medicine, ensure that the entire course of treatment is completed to prevent re-infection. Delpocure 100 MG Suspension may not be suitable for all conditions. Inform the doctor if your child has liver or kidney problems, or any other health condition.

Diarrhoea

Delpocure 100 MG Suspension can cause diarrhoea as it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your child's stomach or intestine. Inform your doctor if your child experiences severe diarrhoea while taking this medicine.

Antibiotic resistance

Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria develop the ability to defeat the medicine that was intended to kill them. Hence, complete the entire course of treatment even if your child feels better after a few doses to avoid antibiotic resistance.

Antacids

Antacids containing aluminium and magnesium salts can reduce the absorption of Delpocure 100 MG Suspension. Therefore, if your child has been prescribed an antacid, it is recommended to give this antibiotic at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking antacids.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Delpocure 100 MG Suspension. If you forget to give a dose to your child, give it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to compensate for the missed dose.

Overdose

Never give more than the prescribed dose to your child. Seek emergency medical attention in case of an overdose with Delpocure 100 MG Suspension.

Colitis

Colitis is the inflammation of the large intestine. Delpocure 100 MG Suspension can kill the helpful bacteria in your child's stomach or intestine and leads to diarrhoea. Therefore use this medicine with caution if your child has any stomach and intestinal problems, particularly colitis, as it may worsen his/her health condition.

Impaired kidney function

Delpocure 100 MG Suspension is filtered by the kidney and moved out of the body through urine. Hence, maintain caution while giving Delpocure 100 MG Suspension to your child as it can increase the risk of kidney damage.

Impaired liver function

Delpocure 100 MG Suspension may increase liver enzyme levels and cause liver swelling. Hence, maintain caution while giving Delpocure 100 MG Suspension to your child as it can increase the risk of liver damage.

Seizures

Delpocure 100 MG Suspension should be used with caution if your child has a history of seizure episodes (fits), as it can trigger a seizure attack. Your child’s doctor will adjust the dose or replace the medicine with a suitable alternative as required.

Coombs test

The Coombs test is performed to find certain proteins that attack red blood cells. Delpocure 100 MG Suspension may give a false-positive result for the coombs test.

You can give Delpocure 100 MG Suspension with or without food as prescribed by your doctor. Shake the bottle well before use. Measure the dose of the medicine carefully using a measuring device. Make sure that your child takes the necessary volume of Delpocure 100 MG Suspension. Never give more than the prescribed dose to your child. Give the medicine at the same time daily. Make sure that your child completes the entire course of this medicine even if the symptoms disappear after few days. If your child discontinues this medicine, there is a chance that the infection may occur again. Also, Delpocure 100 MG Suspension may lose its effectiveness in killing the bacteria. Do not recommend this medicine to other parents even if their child's condition appears to be the same.
