Description
Decita Injection is used for the treatment of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). It is a group of conditions where the bone marrow is not able to produce enough healthy blood cells. This medicine may also be used for the treatment of adult patients (age >= 65) with newly diagnosed or secondary acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

Immunization or vaccination

Report the administration of any vaccine in the recent times to the doctor before receiving therapy with this medicine. Your doctor may postpone treatment with Decita Injection based on your clinical condition.

Use in children

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Kidney diseases

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with an impairment of the normal renal function due to the increased risk of adverse effects. Close monitoring of kidney function, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases.

Liver diseases

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with an impairment of the normal liver function due to the increased risk of adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases.

Active infection

This medicine should not be administered if the patient has an active or uncontrolled infection. Appropriate corrective measures should be taken and the therapy should be delayed until the infection is resolved or controlled.

Abnormal blood count

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with low white blood cell counts due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition, including the development of life-threatening infections. Close monitoring of complete blood counts is recommended during treatment with this medicine. Appropriate corrective measures, dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the patient's clinical condition.

Prevention of pregnancy

It is advised to prevent pregnancies during therapy with this medicine. Your doctor may advise effective means of contraception to avoid a pregnancy during treatment with this medicine.
