Description
Crestor 10 MG Tablet belongs to the class of medications called statins. It is used to reduce the level of bad cholesterol in the body. Our body has two types of cholesterols, good cholesterols (high-density lipoproteins) and bad cholesterols (low-density lipoproteins). Bad cholesterols build up in the blood vessels and cause narrowing of the vessels leading to severe diseases such as heart attack, stroke, etc. Moreover, this medicine is used in reducing the amount of cholesterol in children and patients between 10 to 17 years of age suffering from hypercholesterolemia (a genetic disorder). A proper diet and regular exercise should be maintained along with taking this medicine for its better efficacy. The common side effects of Crestor 10 MG Tablet are nausea, vomiting, weakness and stomach pain. These side effects are usually mild and resolve with time. However, if any side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor at the earliest. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. Inform the doctor if you are allergic to the medicine of the same class. You can take Crestor 10 MG Tablet with a meal or on an empty stomach. Take the dose as directed by your doctor. Do not self-medicate or stop on your own. Discuss all the known illnesses such as liver disease, diabetes, etc., and about active medications with your doctor before taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding mother, before taking this medicine. Your doctor may advise you on tests such as lipid profiles and blood glucose levels to make sure the medicine is working properly.
