Description

Cefeprime 500 MG Injection is a broad spectrum antibiotic which is used to treat a variety of conditions caused by bacteria in the lungs, urinary tract, and abdomen. The intramuscular injection is used to treat urinary tract infections caused by Escherichia coli.

  • Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea

    - Avoid if you experience severe diarrhea after receiving Cefeprime 500 MG Injection. As antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora in the large intestine which promotes the growth of bacteria called clostridium difficile.
  • Drug-resistance

    - Usage of Cefeprime 500 MG Injection without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that is drug resistant.
  • Impaired kidney function

    - Use with caution if you have a preexisting kidney disease. Appropriate dose adjustments are to be made based of CrCl or eGFR.
  • Neurotoxicity

    - Cefeprime 500 MG Injection may increase the risk of serious adverse effects like encephalopathy, seizures, and nonconvulsive status epilepticus. These reactions may occur in the patients with impaired kidney function with no proper dose adjustment.
