Description
Betnesol 0.1% Drops is a medicine that contains Betamethasone. It is used to relieve swelling, itchiness, and redness of the eyes and ears that may be caused due to infection. It kills and prevent the bacteria causing infections and gives fast relief from the symptoms. It works by stopping the release of certain substances that cause redness and swelling. Betnesol 0.1% Drops has some side effects like burning, irritation, and itching at the site of application. These side effects are temporary and subside with time. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects bother you or worsen. Do not drive vehicles or operate machines after using this medicine as it may cause blurred vision. Betnesol 0.1% Drops is a prescription medicine and should be used as instructed by your doctor. Wash your hands thoroughly before using this medicine. Shake the bottle well before every use. If you use contact lenses, remove them while using these drops. Do not stop using these drops without consulting your doctor as abrupt discontinuation may relapse your condition. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Allergy

General warnings

Contact lenses

You must remove your contact lenses while taking Betnesol 0.1% Drops. Wearing contact lenses after instilling this medicine in your eyes may cause irritation and redness. Wait for at least 15 minutes before putting your lenses back.

Viral eye infections

Betnesol 0.1% Drops is not recommended for use to treat viral eye infections like epithelial herpes simplex keratitis (eye infection due to herpes simplex virus) as it is not effective against the virus.

Visual disturbances

Betnesol 0.1% Drops may cause blurred vision or visual disturbances. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist.

Driving or operating machinery

Betnesol 0.1% Drops may cause blurred vision or visual disturbances. Hence, do not drive vehicles or operate machines after using this medicine until your vision is clear.

Missed Dose

As soon as you recall, administer the missed dose of Betnesol 0.1% Drops. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose

Use Betnesol 0.1% Drops as prescribed by your doctor. Do not instil more or fewer drops than prescribed. Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better after taking a few doses. Do not touch the tip to any surface, or to your eye/ear, to avoid contamination. Make sure to use it within four weeks of opening the medication. Consult your doctor if your symptoms do not improve within two days of starting treatment. Keep the medicine away from the reach of the children and pets.
