Description

Maczone Plus 375 Injection is an antibiotic with the combination of Ceftriaxone and Sulbactam. It is used to treat bacterial infections affecting the lungs, nose, throat, ears, urinary tract etc. This medicine kills or stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection. Maczone Plus 375 Injection is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Maczone Plus 375 Injection shows side effects like diarrhoea, pain at the injection site, headache, weakness, and dizziness. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to it. Contact your doctor if any side effects are seen for a long time. Maczone Plus 375 Injection is injected into your vein or muscle by a healthcare professional in a hospital or clinic. Do not inject it on your own. Your doctor will determine the dose you need each day and how often the injections should be given. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. Maczone Plus 375 Injection may interact with calcium-containing products. Hence avoid using this medicine in infants and neonates (babies less than 28 days old) receiving calcium products. Inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or stomach and intestinal problems before taking the medicine.

What is it prescribed for?

Urinary tract infection

An infection in any part of your urinary system- the kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra is called urinary tract infections (UTIs). UTIs can occur as complicated or uncomplicated urinary tract infections. Woman are at a greater risk of getting this infection compared to men. Maczone Plus 375 Injection is used to treat complicated and uncomplicated urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.

Bacterial Meningitis

Bacterial meningitis is an infection of the meninges, the protective layer that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. It starts when bacteria reach to your bloodstream and travel to your brain and spinal cord. Maczone Plus 375 Injection is used to treat bacterial meningitis.

Skin and Skin Structure Infection

Skin and soft tissue infections occur when the bacteria invade the skin and its supporting structures. Maczone Plus 375 Injection is used to treat all skin infections including abscess (collection of pus) caused by bacteria.

Acute bacterial otitis media

Acute otitis media (AOM), is an infection of the middle ear (the area behind the eardrum), common in infants and young children. Maczone Plus 375 Injection is used to treat acute otitis media caused by bacteria.

Lower Respiratory Tract Infection

Maczone Plus 375 Injection is used to treat the following lung infections: 1. Pneumonia- It is an infection of the air sacs in the lungs (either single or both lungs). It can be caused due to bacteria or virus. This medicine is used to treat pneumonia caused by bacteria. 2. Bronchitis- It is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. It is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.

Gonococcal Infection

Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by the bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoea. It infects both men and women. It spreads during vaginal, oral or anal sex, especially sex without protection. Maczone Plus 375 Injection is used to treat a gonococcal infections.

Intra-abdominal Infection

Intra-abdominal infection (IAI) describes a number of infections. Pelvic inflammatory disease

Pelvic inflammatory disease is an infection of the female reproductive organs caused by bacteria like Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoea, etc. In this infection, the bacteria first enter the vagina and move into the pelvic organs like fallopian tubes, ovaries, cervix, and the uterus, thus spreading the infection. Maczone Plus 375 Injection is used to treat pelvic inflammatory disease.

Antibiotic resistance

Diarrhoea
