Description

Gushout 978 Tablet is an alkalinizing agent which is used for the prevention and treatment of kidney stones. This medicine works by neutralizing stone-forming salts in your urine, therefore treating and reducing your risk for kidney stones. Gushout 978 Tablet may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, tiredness and weakness. Most of them are temporary and go away on their own. Consult your doctor if these side effects are getting persistent and/or worse. Gushout 978 Tablet with food to avoid stomach discomfort. Your dose will be dependent on your condition. Take the medicine same time every day to maintain a constant level of medicine in your body. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting with your doctor as your symptoms could come back. Gushout 978 Tablet is not recommended if you are allergic to it or have severe kidney problems. Inform your doctor all about your current medications and existing medical conditions. This will help your doctor to adjust your dose for avoiding side effects. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

What is it prescribed for?

Kidney stones

Kidney stones are hard deposits made of minerals and salts that form inside your kidneys. They can be painful when passing through the urinary tract, but usually don't cause permanent damage. Gushout 978 Tablet is used for the prevention and treatment of kidney stones.

Allergy

Hyperkalemia

Gushout 978 Tablet is not recommended if you have hyperkalemia (high blood potassium levels) as it can further increase your potassium levels which may worsen your condition.

Addison's disease

Gushout 978 Tablet should not be used if you have Addison's disease (a disorder in which the adrenal glands don't produce enough hormones) as it may worsen your condition. Your doctor may replace your medicine with another suitable medicine in such cases.

Severe kidney impairment

Gushout 978 Tablet is not recommended for use if you have kidney problems as an impaired kidney will not be able to filter the medicine properly. This can increase the risk of toxicity.

Dehydration

How it works

Gushout 978 Tablet makes some changes in the urine and alkalizes the stone-forming salts such as calcium phosphate, calcium oxalate, and uric acid thereby dissolving the kidney stones. It also raises urinary pH and makes the urine less acidic.
